How the Wheels go round!

How to Make a Music Video:
  1. First off, if you can actually sing that's a plus, otherwise you can go the Milli Vanilli route. Who will know?
  2. Most people don't have thousands of dollars for expensive video equipment, so dig out that old 8mm or VHS video camera.
  3. Find a desert... any desert will do.
  4. If you don't have supermodel looks, hire a stand-in that does.
  5. Set out your wardrobe (or the stand-in's wardrobe) which will consist of a slinky gown or anything that clings to the body.
  6. Set up your camera on a tripod and change into your slinky outfit (or have your stand-in change into her wardrobe now).
  7. Never acted before? No problem.. all ya gotta do is give a come-hither look and move your arms around as you sing (or mouth the words to) your song.
  8. If you are using a stand-in, make sure she gives her best sexy look while she writhes around to the music and lip-synchs to your song.
  9. Make sure to set up the tape player near the microphone so that the sound is heard while you tape.
  10. Playback the tape and view your masterpiece!

How to Get Your Band’s Song on the Radio:
  1. Burn your band’s song to CD and create a professional presentation.
  2. Attempt to make an appointment with the Music Director or Program Director of the station you want to get your song on.
  3. If you get an appointment, be punctual and tell him/her about your band and the song and WHY it would fit with their programming.
  4. If you cannot get an appointment with the Music Director or Program Director, mail your presentation.
  5. Follow up with a phone call 3-5 days later. If you get voice mail, leave a message.
  6. If your song is a special piece of production such as a parody, humor or even sports-related, bypass all of the above and make contact with that station’s morning show.
  7. Morning shows are always looking for material and are more willing than anyone to review something and play it on the air.
  8. The easiest way to get to the morning show is to show up one morning with breakfast for them. They will be pleased and more receptive to your pitch.
